HOUSING ESTATE

Fonyód is a town and holiday resort on the south shore of Lake Balaton,in north-west Somogy County, south-western Hungary.
Located on two hills of vulcanic origin ,right across the lake is the famous wine city Badacsony. With his 250 meters
above see level, Fonyód is the highest point on the south shore. A large number of mansions, build at the beginning
of the last century can be found on the western hill,
called "Várhegy". This health resort was founded by Count Zichy Béla with
the name "Bélatelep". At the foot of this mountain, 300 meters
from the bank of the Balaton is the housing estate "Sirály",
150 km far away from Budapest and 230 from Vienna.
It consists of 11 properties, with a part-panoramic view of the lake.
Sitting in the park of the former
hotel "Sirály", built at the beginning of the 20'th. century, with
Oak, Maple, Ash, Chestnut, and Poplar trees,
the develloped properties have got all utilities
(water, electricity, gas, and sewerage). The area of the whole estate amounts to
11 130 m2. There are four different types of planed houses and the driveways
are covered with pebbles. |
